Visit Gulf States to the Netherlands aimed at tackling water problems

The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the (Dutch) Regional Business Development team in the Gulf States, hosted a visit to the Netherlands in November 2019 by a delegation of business representatives from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries (the VIP GCC Water Visit). Given the urgency of water problems in the Gulf States, it is very important to cooperate closely with the Gulf States and to discuss urgent water problems, new technologies and future projects in the water sector.

The purpose of the VIP GCC Water Visit was to use these dialogues to increase cooperation between Dutch and GCC companies, to introduce new technologies for the water sector, and to introduce the Nexus theme for Expo 2020 Dubai. The GCC delegation attended the Amsterdam International Water Week and visited various relevant companies and knowledge and research institutes in the Netherlands.

On 6 November, the delegation visited KWR, and on that occasion we discussed a variety of topics, including desalination technology (in view of the shortage of fresh water in the Gulf states), flood management, water treatment and opportunities regarding the Nexus theme for the Expo 2020 Dubai.
