Alex Hockin MSc

Alex Hockin is a researcher in the Geohydrology team. In 2018, she completed her Master’s in environmental hydrogeology at Utrecht University, graduating cum laude. For her Master’s she studied the potential for bioremediation of tar through the interaction of chemical and microbial processes, both in-situ and in laboratory experiments. In the past, Alex worked on a range of water-related issues in the Great Lakes (Canada), including freshwater plastic pollution and groundwater/surface-water nutrient fluxes. Alex is particularly interested in multidisciplinary research projects, where her broad knowledge base is an asset. At KWR she works on projects related to hydrochemistry, groundwater geochemical analysis and chemical and microbial water quality.
