Milou Dingemans PhD

Milou Dingemans works as Chief Science Officer of KWR and as a researcher and toxicologist in the Chemical Water Quality and Health team. She has over 15 years’ experience in scientific research into the harmful effects on health of the exposure to chemicals. At KWR Milou works on the assessment of possible health hazards of substances relevant to the water cycle on commissions from water utilities, government and industry. She is also active in the development, validation and implementation of innovative test methods and risk assessment techniques related to chemical water quality. She completed her studies in Biology with a specialisation in Toxicology and Environmental Health, and then did her doctoral research on the effects of substances on the nervous system and postdoctoral work in the field of human toxicology. Milou is a member of the international Society of Toxicology and the Dutch Society of Toxicology.
Milou is chair of the Scientific Council of KWR and guest researcher at the Institute for Risk Assessment Sciences at Utrecht University.
