Martin Meerkerk BSc

Martin Meerkerk is a researcher on the Chemical Water Quality and Health team. In recent years, he has mainly focused on the organisation and coordination of private legislation within the Dutch drinking water sector. This concerns legislation on collection, treatment, storage and distribution of drinking water. This expertise was built through research experiences in permeation and migration from plastic water pipelines, removal of organic micropollutants from drinking water and water quality studies. Furthermore, Martin has knowledge of and experience in private and public legislational certification of products that come into contact with drinking water. With the increased interest in legislation and a wide-ranging network within the Dutch drinking water sector, these experiences led to his central role in legislation in this sector. In that role, he has contact with mainly drinking water companies as well as Dutch regulation and certification organisations.
