Ton van Leerdam BSc

As a researcher in the Chemical Water Quality and Health team, Ton van Leerdam puts more than thirty years of experience into guaranteeing the (chemical) quality of the water cycle and identifying new chemical substances. To this end, he applies the latest analytical techniques in close cooperation with the KWR chemical laboratory. His most valuable project at the moment is a broad chemical screening with high-resolution mass spectrometry, in which an as complete as possible picture of the water quality is obtained. Developments in the field of monitoring chemical water quality are monitored through scientific literature, international networks and conferences.
Also, Ton is project manager of extensive water-related projects within, among others, the Top Consortium for Knowledge and Innovation (TKI). He is involved in various national crisis networks such as the Crisis Expert Team Environment and Drinking Water (CET-md) and coordinator of the KWR accessibility service (‘Water Telephone’).
