Valentina Attiani

Valentina is a scientific researcher in the field of microbiological water activity of (man-made) water systems. Currently, she focuses on analyzing microbiological and ecological water quality in drinking water and other water systems using Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data. Valentina holds a Master’s degree in Earth and Environment, specializing in the biology and chemistry of soil and water, as well as molecular ecology. She is currently finalizing her PhD in environmental molecular ecology (Wageningen University), where she studied the microbiological processes and communities in slow sand filters used in water treatment to produce safe and high quality drinking water.
