Digital transformation journeys

Select a digital strategy that matches your organisational needs

The big challenge faced by water utilities and the water sector in a digital transformation is the sustainable adoption of the digital strategy and technologies, and closely aligning them with the organisation’s needs and long-term objectives. A clear roadmap and the collaboration between different departments keeps digital transformations aligned with strategic objectives and helps to achieve an integrated approach, clear outcomes and optimal impact, thus leading to efficient and expeditious progress towards innovation.

Methods, tools and products

At KWR, we develop knowledge to strategically guide water utilities’ digital transformation journeys. We view digital transformation as a multi-disciplinary effort that requires diverse expertise and the involvement of all levels within an organisation. At its core, digital transformation is a business transformation process that demands innovation and ambition to realise its benefits.

The KWR methodologies are tailored to the specific business and operational challenges faced by (waste)water utilities. We also develop milestone-driven plans and provide expert advice to help these organisations prioritise their efforts and achieve their goals effectively.

Roadmap for implementing digital twins

At KWR, we collaborate with water utilities as strategic-guidance and knowledge partners to closely align their current business needs and long-term goals with their digital transformation process. We also partner with (waste)water utilities to conceptualise specific solutions, such as digital twins, to meet end-user requirements. KWR has developed a systematic roadmap

that provides an integrated approach to implementing digital twins within water utilities. This multi-disciplinary roadmap guides water utilities through all technical necessities and integration requirements, while taking due account of the organisation’s readiness.

The experts at KWR use a functional design methodology which combines stakeholder engagement with technical analyses. This methodology provides insights into the main concerns and requirements of stakeholders, ensuring the tailored design of digital twins that can effectively assist water utilities and Water Authorities. For example, KWR is currently assisting PWN in implementing their digital water strategy, creating added value for their organisation through digital technologies and connecting the physical and digital worlds.
