Installation construction technician (32-40 hours per week)

Given the growing number of projects within KWR, we are looking for an enthusiastic, technical and creative colleague for our workshop who has broad technical knowledge.

Safe and clean drinking water is a great asset. KWR is an internationally renowned research institute in the field of water quality, the water cycle and sustainable development. ‘Bridging science to practice’ is our mission. From our fully sustainable building with ‘state of the art’ laboratories, our approximately 200 employees from two knowledge groups work on innovative projects in the Netherlands and increasingly in and outside Europe. The ten Dutch drinking water companies and the Belgian ‘De Watergroep’ are our shareholders.

Our researchers work at the intersection of science, business and society. Their strength lies in the translation of scientific knowledge into applicable practical solutions for end users in the Dutch and international water sector. To support the research, KWR has specialized laboratories, a test hall and test installations are built in-house. In addition, company-specific software is developed for use within projects.

The team

As a technician you will work in our workshop, together with three experienced colleagues, where there is plenty of room for personal development within a socially involved research institute. Due to the growing number of projects, the team is looking for a new colleague.

The position

As a technician, you know how to design and maintain test installations and equipment for all KWR teams and clients. You work all-round on mechanical and electrical engineering solutions, occasionally accompanied by control technology. You also prepare budgets for the installations to be built, purchase parts and maintain contact with clients. Your work usually takes place in the KWR workshop in Nieuwegein and sometimes you spend a day working at technical locations in the water sector.

Your profile

As a technician, you know how to design and build equipment and installations in a solution-oriented and inventive manner in consultation with the client of project manager.

You are an enthusiastic and creative technician. We also ask:

  • MBO+ of HBO working and thinking level;
  • Knowledge of electronics, mechatronics, PLC techniques and electrical diagrams;
  • Experience with designing and building installations;
  • Experience with constructive mechanical engineering, machining techniques and various welding techniques;
  • Experience with quoting, purchasing and creating CE documents;
  • Good command of the Dutch and English language, spoken and written;
  • Experience with drawing in AutoCAD is an advantage.
